Choices Matter

Your body is doing the best it can to help you thrive in the environment in which you are asking it to live. And if you don't like the consequences, you might want to change your CHOICES.

Everything about your environment; what you see, think, say, do, eat, and drink -- all of these things directly influences your genetic activation -- which has an even higher level of impact on your biochemistry.

You have a lot more control and impact over your wellness than you think.

Back when I was in my burnout misery in early 2022, my therapist gave me real talk and a very important task to do. She was like hey, you’ve been trying to do too much in a single day and you have no structure. The problem with working from home and being a CEO is that it can be too flexible. You want flexibility and freedom but you now you’re all over the place. You’re working over time or giving up early because it’s becomes overwhelming. I remember being so combative, but I want to go with the flow and I want to be free, yadda yadda. And she was like, ‘Is it working?’ It wasn’t.

Not only was my work scattered but my meal times and self care too. Meal times were 10am, 3ishpm, 8ishpm. And because I was eating later, I was sleeping later. And the cycle continues. This was disregulating my blood sugar levels experiencing dizziness, low brain functioning, and irritability and sometimes my hormones and menstrual cycles like more cravings and fatigue. It’s all interconnected my friends.

She suggested I plan out everything to a T, the timing to everything, from meals to breaks. It felt so precise I was like ugh. Robot life. BUT, I did it for about half a year, and it actually wasn’t oppressive. I felt more focuses and clear and now it feels natural. And YES, there still is room for flexibility, but I’m so much less stressed, overwhelmed, have created better boundaries, and just know my limits for the day.
